I'm a South African registered dietitian. My passion lies in paediatric palliative care, where I strive to make a difference in the lives of children and their families during challenging times.
Additionally, I am a South African Certified Lactation Consultant, driven by my belief in the importance of nutrition in the first 1000 days of a child's life.
As a lifelong learner, I am always studying and immersing myself in the world of research and academia. I find great joy in exploring new knowledge and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in my field. This dedication to continuous learning allows me to provide the best possible care and support to my patients.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a firm believer in the power of connection and community. I love connecting with individuals from all walks of life, both locally and globally. Food, travel, and creating a happy, healthy lifestyle are my passions outside of work. These interests allow me to engage with others on a personal level and foster meaningful connections that enrich my life and the lives of those around me.

As a devoted wife and mother, she values the importance of family and the role food plays in creating lasting memories. Her journey in the kitchen began at a young age, sitting on her grandmother's counter and learning the art of baking for the home industry. These positive experiences have shaped Kirstin's understanding that food is not just nourishment for the body, but also a means to connect with others and create meaningful moments. This perspective has influenced her approach to working with individuals, helping them develop healthy eating habits that meet their nutritional needs while fostering a positive relationship with food. Kirstin firmly believes that allowing children to enjoy their favourite foods and create cherished memories is crucial in the realm of paediatric palliative care.
